SKIN CONDITIONS
Wrinkles and Volume Loss

There are two different types of ageing. Instrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic ageing is genetically programmed and in part due to hormonal factors such as decline of estrogen and other hormones that deteriorate quality of the skin. This is why women age so drastically after menopause, unlike men who have a more steady ageing process. Extrinsic ageing is related to external factors such as UV exposure, pollution, smoking, diet, and this is the part we can do something about!

Ageing skin consist of:

• Wrinkles - fine lines and deeper lines
• Loss of bone structure
• Loss of volume
• Texture change (thickening or thinning of the skin)
• Colour change (dyschromia)

Anti-ageing treatments need an in-depth assessment of all the different components of an individuals ageing. In the long term skin care is vital and will involve ingredients such as retinol, peptides and growth factors. We always recommend perfecting the texture and tone of the skin with skin tightening and laser to smooth finer lines, and return the skin to a more robust state. Topcical retinol such as retrieve cream can assist. Dynamic wrinkles can be treated with wrinkle reduction injections and any volume loss with volume enhancement products.
