Hair Reduction

Our latest technology hair removal system provides faster more comfortable results working to reduce and remove unwanted hair. The system works on all skin types and areas of the body and face, including the most sensitive areas. The powered lights are attracted to the darker colour in the hair shaft and transfers down to the hair follicle to inhibit future hair growth.

This treatment is suitable for people that have light brown to dark black hair that would like to reduce body or facial hair.

  • Is hair reduction painful?

The treatment length depends on how large the area is being treated. Typically appointments will range between 15 - 45 minutes.

  • What is the expected downtime after treatment?

There is no downtime and you can return to your daily schedule immediately. Daily sunscreen application is imperative for 2 weeks post treatment.

Dermatology Laser Hair Removal Frequently Asked Questions
How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair reduction works by applying a laser light to the skin, where the beam is attracted to the melanin (pigment) in the hair. This is then converted to heat which travels down the hair follicle to the blood supply, destroying it, and reducing future hair growth.

What does laser hair removal feel like?

It feels a bit like a hot rubber band flicking your skin. In some areas you may have very little sensation, and in areas where the hair follicles are dark/thick, you may feel it more. Laser hair reduction does not need to hurt to be effective.

What will my skin look and feel like after laser hair removal?

Some expected effects on the skin include heat, redness, mild itching, hives, and small red dots called perifollicular erythema. These effects typically last between 24-48 hours. If you are prone to hay fever, you are more likely to experience hives and itchiness. This can be managed by taking an antihistamine before your treatment, and applying soothing skincare afterwards.

How long does laser hair removal last?

Laser hair removal should be a permanent reduction in hair growth. A top up every few years may be required in some people.
