Everything you Need to Know about Exomide Exosomes

What are exosomes?

Exosomes which are nanosized vesicles that are secreted from cells within our body. These act as information carriers that exert an effect on other cells they encounter to help co-ordinate physiological processes. The exosomes of choice at Skindepth are developed by Xytide and derived from ethically sourced, healthy, human adipose (fat) tissue. Using this derivative is the most stable and controlled substance to work from as there is no DNA component meaning the cells cannot mutate.

Exosomes are a like a super powered multivitamin for the skin. Containing important skin health ingredietns such as Growth factors, amino acids, pepties, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and glutathione they have a multitude of beneficial effects in the skin.

Who are Exosomes suitable for?

Exosomes are suitable for all ages and skin types and those looking to heighten the effects of collagen stimulating treatments.

Exosomes are also safe in pregnancy, and we use them in combination with our other Skindepth pregnancy safe skin treatments.

What are the effects of exosomes in the skin?

Exosomes have power antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and at skindepth we combine exosomes with skin treatments such as skin needling, nanofractional radiofrequency. It is one way in which we facilitate trans epidermal drug delivery. In this way exosomes also facilitate enhanced wound healing, especially after lasers and other skin treatments,

Exosoomes have also been show to reduce the appearances of skin pigmentation and uneven skin tone by  Melanocyte inhibition.

Exosomes are also useful in those with an impaired skin barrier such as rosacea, as they assist barrier repair.

How are exosomes administered?

Exosomes are delivered to the skin via a topical application, then the use of a sonophersis device. This makes sure the exosomes are delivered into the skin exactly where they need to be to exert their effects.

What is the down time with exosomes?

Downtime will relate to the nature of the adjuvant treatment but mostly exosomes will reduce the usual downtime of treatment

Are exosomes painful?

No exosomes are not uncomfortable . Any discomfort will relate to the procedure performed along side the exosomes

Which treatments work best with Exomide exosomes?

ANY! These ampoules can be added onto any treatment or even purchased as a stand alone serum to be used at home. However, the best results are achieved when infusing the exosomes into the skin after penetrative treatments such as skin needling or nanofractional radiofrequency. This process is called laser assisted delivery. These controlled advanced skin treatments temporarily weaken the skin barrier, allowing for exosomes to infuse even further down into the skin's structures.
